6 home design ideas to inspire you

1. Change the whole look of the exterior of your house
Often we see ideas on how to change the interiors of our homes – installing a brand new kitchen, converting the loft, etc. But how about the exterior?

2. Expose ceiling joists
Exposed ceiling joists are more often than not associated with period homes, but they can make a characterful addition to modern self-build too. See how we have incorporated these wooden ceiling joists into this Suffolk Barn Conversion
Just bear in mind that exposed timber joists will typically require a fire-retardant coating for Building Regulation purposes.
3. Bring glazing indoors
Interior glazing has been used for years in commercial spaces and offices. Now, self-builders are seeing the benefits of interior glazing in new homes. It allows natural light and views to be shared in adjacent rooms, while still offering some soundproofing.
